Abstract

This paper aims to inform Speech-Language Pathology Community our experience and progress in relation to the possibility of detecting changes of language, communication and / or speech in children attending primary schools across the country and coursing 1st and 7th grade who are ages in which implements the PROSANE.


A group of professionals we were called by the Ministry of Health of the Nation in 2014, to form a Pathology commission within the Committee of Experts of School Health Program (PROSANE). This instrument health monitoring already being implemented but was not updated in relation to advances in the field of audiology. Detection of hearing loss initially joined and subsequently detecting possible disturbances of language, communication and / or speech.


Given that in daily clinical practice we increasingly with an increase in the prevalence of deficits or delays in language acquisition and / or communication , the proposal seemed important to us and it was our commitment then prepares a document enabling perform effective detection , and that can be implemented with minimal resources. It was initially implemented as a pilot project in some provinces soon to be implemented according to the possibilities throughout the country.


As professionals dedicated to the subject believe that children with communicative - linguistic restrictions constitute a vulnerable group, have significant restrictions to develop and integrate into their small social world. Language difficulties also inevitably impact on learning written language, across all academic subjects, leading to frustration on the child and family concerns.
