DESIGN AND VALIDATION OF THE C.O.E.E TEST Prepositions UNDERSTANDING ORDERS WITH PREPOSITIONAL SYNTAGMS IN WRITTEN SPANISH
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research arises from the need to have an instrument that allows evaluating the effectiveness of Logogenia method -in a partially way - during the syntactic stimulation processes, through the sentences reading, in deaf students. This test was designed considering the difficulties presented in deaf people in syntax evaluation situation. The bibliographic research shows the need of this type of tests and points out the disadvantages of adapting those that are created for hearing people or those who have other types of linguistic and/or cognitive pathologies. This test takes into consideration the difficulties of accessing the lexicon, minimizing the cognitive load in this aspect of reading and focusing attention on the understanding of prepositional structures that have different syntactic functions in sentences. This article details the scientific validation process of this instrument: evidence of content validity, evidence of external validity and statistical data analysis. Its results are the starting point of a new stage of applicability of the Logogenia method, that it has been used since 1990 in different Spanish-speaking countries and in Italy, with very satisfactory results. It is expected that this test will be complemented with others that evaluate other syntactic aspects in linguistic development and consider stimulation with Logogenia: syntactic order, ambiguity, ungrammaticality and grammatical agreement.
